Point-to-Point Integration (P2P)

 

Several vendors (Magento Extension Marketplace or NetSuite integration vendors) offer point-to-point integration.

As the name crudely suggests in this integration Magento2 and NetSuite are “pointed” at each other to sync information like inventory counts, orders, customers, and items. With this process, there’s no operational platform in the middle of your systems. You have to define a “master” system to manage your data, this serves as a central repository, or as a platform. Data is transferred “as-is” between the two systems. However, these solutions usually sync data in regular batches, this could be every hour or once/twice a day. 

Usually, sellers go for this process due to its more affordable nature. If you have a budget of a few hundred dollars a month, simpler integration between NetSuite and Magento2 like this could work for you and kick start your growth. 

Disadvantages: You cannot add sales channels as P2P won’t let you do that. P2P is usually rigid to integrating other management systems as your business scales. Each new system addition would require adding multiple connections as P2P only allows for a 1:1 relationship between each system. This would get tedious if you plan on integrating new modules after your Magento2 and NetSuite integration. 

For instance, integrating three systems only needs three connections. But, combining the fourth system pushes you up to twelve connections! What’s concerning that if one system fails, the whole system/platform can collapse. Thus, in this kind of integration, scaling involves totally reconstructing your operations. It’s disordered and you’ll end up paying even more of your resources.

 

Custom Magento2 to NetSuite Integration

 

Sometimes sellers want to take a different layout and prefer to build their own custom integration.
